According to an attendee of Anthrocon 200x-2011, prices range from
$100-200 USD per room per night + 14% tax

Anthrocon is 4 days in length (July thurs 4 - sun 7), the opening ceremony is on Friday. We will aim to get there on Wednesday and leave on Monday.
Therefore 6 days (5 nights) at $200 = $1000 (total cost for 1 room. can be split amongst people staying in said room)
If split amongst 4 people (max capacity for a room) - $1000 / 4 = $250
Therefore it would cost you approximately $250 for a room with 3 other people for 6 days (5 nights).

Allowing approx $7 per meal, 3 meals a day... $20 a day for food. (this is a bare minimum, please allow more)
$20 a day, 6 days in Pittsburgh = $120 for food

Make sure you have at least $300 - 500 as an emergency backup as well.

ESTA: "Australian's do not need a visa to to visit the US. As long as they have ESTA and a passport with 6 months validity - and a return air ticket"
